Crime Prevention Specialist
The Swedish Economic Crime Authority prevents, detects, interrupts, investigates, and prosecutes economic crimes. Our 800 employees have various competencies and professional roles, such as prosecutors, police officers, economic crime investigators, administrators, and other specialists, all working together against economic crime. We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a crime prevention specialist at the Swedish Economic Crime Authority in Linköping or Örebro. Workplace
Preventing economic crime is one of the Swedish Economic Crime Authority's important missions. By utilizing the knowledge we have about economic crime and its causes, we develop crime prevention measures aimed at reducing economic crime and its harmful effects.
The crime prevention work is based on the authority's crime prevention strategy. The work focuses on collaboration with other authorities, municipalities, businesses, and organizations that can take crime prevention measures. The work also aims to propose crime prevention measures in legislation as well as in supervisory and control environments.
The crime prevention office currently consists of 15 employees, including 12 regional crime prevention specialists and an office manager. The crime prevention specialists are located at the authority's operational sites in Umeå, Stockholm, Linköping, Gothenburg, and Malmö as well as Uppsala. The placement for this position is in Linköping or Örebro.
Job Responsibilities
As a crime prevention specialist, you will participate in the authority's operational and strategic crime prevention assignments at the regional and national levels. You will work closely with other regional crime prevention specialists and collaborate closely with the police operational unit and crime investigation chamber operations at your placement location.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- participating in regional and national collaboration groups with other authorities and external parties
- producing cause analyses based on knowledge of crime prevention work and identifying and driving crime prevention measures
- participating in joint assignments and lecturing for authorities, regions, municipalities, and private actors regarding how they can reduce the risk of being exploited for economic crime
- responding to consultations regarding new legislation from a crime prevention perspective.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree or equivalent higher education in areas such as economics, law, political science, sociology, criminology, or police education
- knowledge of crime prevention work in the public or private sector acquired through work over the last 5 years
- the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical action
- experience and a good ability to drive development work, lead and manage processes, and create engagement among your colleagues and partners
- good ability and experience in lecturing and otherwise representing your employer externally
- good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
- good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and other digital tools.
- knowledge of economic crime and unfair competition from the public or private sector
- experience working in a crime-fighting authority or at the national/regional/municipal level with crime prevention issues
- experience working in another authority aimed at crime against welfare systems or other public payments
- experience working against labor market crime, for fair competition, and sustainable procurement
- experience in practically investigating, analyzing, and compiling various information in writing
- experience working in the legislative process, e.g., with consultations.
